BLUE COCKTAILS are on the menu today! This time I tried making something more classic, strong, from the old books: Bikini Martini, Sharman-Cox Daiquiri and Darlington. Not forgotten were the legends of the 1980s, specifically, Electric Lemonade — an improved version of Blue Lagoon.

Ingredients

Darlington

  • 1⅓ oz. / 40 ml London Dry Gin
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Calvados / Apple brandy / Applejack
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Blue Curacao
  • ⅔ oz. / 20 ml Dry Vermouth
  • ⅔ oz. / 20 ml Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Simple syrup
  • Garnish Orange zest twist
  • Coupe glass

Bikini Martini

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml London Dry Gin
  • ¾ oz. / 22 ml Blue Curacao liqueur
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Peach liqueur
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Lemon juice
  • Garnish Orange peel
  • Shake, coupe glass

Sharman-Cox Daiquiri

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml Light Rum
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Blue Curacao
  • ¼ oz. / 7 ml Lime juice
  • ¼ oz. / 7 ml Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Simple syrup
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Egg white (or 3 dashes of Bubble drops)
  • Garnish with an Orange zest twist (discarded) & a Lime wedge
  • Shake, coupe glass

Electric Lemonade

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Vodka
  • 1 oz. / 30 ml Lemon juice
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Simple syrup
  • Top up with Tonic (or 7UP / Sprite)
  • Top up with a splash of Blue curacao
  • Garnish with a Lemon wheel
  • Shake, highball glass with ice
